Only by planting trees, we will be able to overcome global warming.

We are not insisting on planting trees just because of global warming. Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam insist on the necessity of trees. Especially in Hinduism, the peepal tree is worshiped as Lord Ganesha while neem is worshiped as a goddess.

Under the guidance of the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, I have been doing this green initiative. My aim is to plant 1 crore sapling in Tamil Nadu.

I think Tamil films will soon go the Hollywood way. There will be separate full-length humour-driven scripts, just like how thrillers and musicals are becoming successful genres.

If your daughter loves tennis, don't send her to dance classes. Let them learn spirituality. Don't shut them up in air-conditioned rooms where they watch TV all day and snack on chips. Let them get out, play in the dirt, sweat it out and come back home.

Imitation is the best form of flattery; people generally understand that my comedy is not intended to hurt anybody. Occasionally, an actor might take exception, but they should just understand that it is all done in good humour.

I rate 'Naan Thaan Bala' as one of the best performances of my career. It was a rare feat, perhaps in Indian cinema, that a popular comedian played the lead role in a film that didn't have even a tinge of humour.

The Censor officials who saw 'Uthamaputhiran' appreciated me a lot. All the credit should go to Mithran Jawahar and Dhanush.

I was near the Niagara Falls where I was shivering and delivering my lines. It was minus 17 degrees and I had gone there without proper thermal wear. Tourists looked at me with horror thinking I had gone nuts.

My inspiration for film comedy comes from here. Spend a day on the Madurai streets and you will be amused at the way these people speak and behave. They have an inherent ability to be hilarious.

I have a mini-library at home and I have begun reading books I'd purchased during my travels.

In 'Uthamaputhiran,' 'Velaiyilla Pattathari' and 'Yennai Arindhaal,' I was a mute spectator to everything.

It was a nice experience to shoot on the streets of New York. Tourists are highly respected there and people are highly disciplined and polite.

I am friendly to all political parties. So, I am able to do my social work freely without any hassles.
