I auditioned for 'The Lord of the Rings,' I auditioned for the part of Sam, and I didn't get very far… they wanted people that were taller and alter them in Computer Generated Images, so I never got a call back.

Sometimes I think you do the things you think are best at the time for what you need to take care of, and then just one thing leads to another thing. And one day you're there going, 'How did I get here? It wasn't my ultimate plan, but I'm here.'

I started doing work as an extra and began taking acting classes. My height didn't seem to matter and no one was making fun of me. I found where I belonged.

I'm looking forward to 'Cataclysm.' I have to be honest: I think one of the things that I worry the most about in the game is the homogenization of the game.

I was so excited to audition for 'The Lord of the Rings,' I knew it was going to be huge. Maybe, by some small chance, Peter Jackson's a 'Star Trek Deep Space Nine' fan.'

I go to conventions all the time. I'm not one of those actors who's public-shy, meaning I don't mind when someone comes up. It doesn't happen often in the real world because people don't recognize me because I was in makeup, but when it does, I don't usually mind it at all if somebody says something.

It's good to be prepared, but spontaneity is very important - just to let yourself go and let it be whatever it is.

Tony Todd, Avery Brooks and Cirroc Lofton were wonderful.
